Live Wedding Painting

What is live-painting?

Live-painting is when an artist sets up a mobile easel during an event and paints the scene in front of them. When you book me as your live painter, you can expect to receive a truly unique service for your event that entertains your guests the entire time. The finished product will be revealed to you at the end of the reception - then, the memory is yours forever!

How does it work?

BEFORE THE WEDDING

We will have a preliminary discussion about your event and your vision for the finished product. To confirm your booking, you will be required to sign an agreement.

DAY OF THE WEDDING

Setting up: I will work with you or your coordinator to set up my station at least 2 hours before the event. During this time, I will complete the underpainting and as much background detail as possible.

Capturing the scene: I will use my phone to take a picture or video of the scene you want painted (for example, the kiss during your wedding ceremony).

Painting: I will spend the remainder of the event getting the painting to a place of "finish." Your guests are welcome to watch me and interact! They might even get to paint a little themselves...

Reveal: Once complete, the newlyweds finally get to see the big reveal near the end of the reception! (Not a requirement - some couples like to watch the process and that's totally fine)

AFTER THE WEDDING

Finishing touches: I will take the painting home with me to finish small details, paint the canvas edges, and varnish the painting so it looks brand-new for years to come.

Delivery: The finished product will be delivered to you within 2 weeks of the event - free of charge!

FAQ

  • How is the service priced?

    • Pricing will vary based on the size of the canvas. Since live-painting is essentially a performance and requires more labor than studio painting, you can expect a higher cost than a regular commissioned piece. Please inquire for a proper estimate!

  • How long does a painting take from start to finish?

    • Typically 4 to 8 hours depending on size (including time spent in the studio before and after the wedding)

  • Will you travel?

    • Yes! I will make my own travel arrangements at the time of booking, then include those costs in your total.

  • Can you just paint my wedding from a photograph?

    • Of course! Just send me a commission inquiry with your reference image.
